In Uniform News...
I’ve been keeping my nose out of the Royal Wedding hubbub, except this headline (naturally) grabbed my eye. Turns out that Prince William blew a lot of people out of the water by choosing to wear the scarlet uniform of the Irish Guard- a U.K. unit stationed in Afghanistan at the moment- as a tribute to his countrymen (and comrades, as he is an honorary Colonel) who have served and fallen.
It was somewhat surprising and very touching to me.

Brass buttons, box pleats, braid, cockades... sometimes all on the same outfit. You know what they always say, they just don't make them like they used to (no offence or disrespect to current service men and women around the world).
